Welcome to our Strings Program! My name is Hristo Hristov and I have been teaching strings for more than thirty years, from elementary to high school level. My wife, Ausra, and I are members, violists, of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. Also, since 2015 our Orpheus String Studio provides strings classes for elementary and middle schools in the Madison School District. Currently the program includes Mannsdale Lower Elementary, Mannsdale Upper Elementary, Madison Station Elementary, Madison Avenue Upper Elementary, Madison Crossing Elementary, and Madison Middle Schools.
We all know that playing a musical instrument is very beneficial for kids intellectually, emotionally, and physically. It improves a child’s reading and comprehension skills, betters his/her mathematical ability, increases responsibility and discipline as well as sharpens a child’s concentration, creates a sense of achievement, and enhances coordination, especially playing a string instrument since both hands make totally different motions while playing. Finally, it promotes happiness in their/your lives.
Your involvement and enthusiasm in this program with reminders to your child of all the great reasons he/she loves to play a string instrument will help your children to be successful and happy in their lives.
